Workshop – 49th Symposium of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi, Pakistan

I will be doing a workshop on ‘Electronic Medical Records’  covering key benefits, challenges and opportunities attached to EMR.

This workshop is a pre-symposium event for the 49th Symposium of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi, Pakistan. It is scheduled for 27 March 2012, 0900 Hrs (+5 UTC)

Participation will be via SKYPE, with a pre-recorded backup video in case the connection breaks during the event.

It’s my understanding the state of the art of medicine in Pakistan is not encumbered with the EMR/EHR problems/issues that exist in many countries so there is a potential leapfrog opportunity here in terms of adoption of user-friendly EMRs that feature decision-support and the ability to accommodate ad hoc Case interventions.

The focus of my workshop will be on increasing staff efficiency, increasing throughput, decreasing medical/admin errors, improving compliance with standards (internal and external).

I am really looking forward to this event.

One Response to Workshop – 49th Symposium of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi, Pakistan

  1. Things are changing by the minute. There are now four (4) speakers. Pakistan, Australia, Canada, Saudi Arabia. The scope of my 15 min presentation will change so I am now on countdown. There will be a PPT component, a separate SKYPE link (so the comms do not get loaded down) but I still want to put out a video covering my presentation for those who are not going to be able to attend and participate.
